I recently got an annual medical check up.

My primary care doctor is Robert Ashley, MD who specializes in internal medicine.

He has over 20 years of experience treating patients of all ages and ethnicities. He also has a strong interest in sports medicine, nutrition, and preventative medicine.

As we were wrapping up my appointment, I asked Dr. Ashley, “Are there any common traits or habits that you see for people who age well?”

He looked at me, then paused. He thought deeply about the question.

He then said, “People who age well don’t limit themselves”.

He gave the example of some men he knew who were in their 70’s and 80’s still playing golf and living with strength & vitality.

On the other hand, many people place limits on what they can do so their limiting beliefs become self-fulfilling prophecies.

He then finished his answer more succinctly, “Don’t limit yourself”.
